Parenting Young Children
Parenting is the most important job you will ever have. Nurturing healthy children and bringing them up to be the well-rounded adults they can be is daunting. There are no quick fixes, easy answers or recipes for parenting children. However, most of us have what it takes to be good parents. It is important to remember that what you hear from other parents, what you read, your own childhood experiences and your child’s temperament will affect the way you parent.
Understanding your child’s development and behaviour will help you respond to your child in positive ways. Parents can be much more effective teachers when their expectations align with their child’s abilities, by doing so, parents can see the world through their child’s eyes and begin to understand the real reasons for their behaviour.
Regardless of your parenting style or the age and development of your child, there are several key elements that will foster better outcomes for children.
